Az EduPay is a payment and administration platform for the online management of fees, applications, tickets, and other services related to Óbuda University. The purpose of the system is to make payment, invoicing, and administration simple, transparent, and cashless.

1. Payment process

Payment is made through the EduPay platform. During a purchase or application process, the user goes through the following steps:

Cart review
The user reviews the selected product, service, course, or ticket, as well as the amount to be paid.

Providing billing details
Before payment, the billing details required for invoicing must be provided. Please make sure to enter the information accurately, as the invoice will be issued based on these details.

Selecting a payment method
Depending on the given product or service, the system may offer different available payment methods. EduPay is primarily designed for online bank card payments, but in certain cases, other payment methods may also be available.

Completing the payment
In the case of bank card payment, the user enters their card details on the secure online platform of the payment service provider. EduPay does not store bank card details.

Confirmation and invoice
After successful payment, the system provides confirmation of the transaction. The electronic invoice becomes available after payment and, depending on the system settings, may also be sent by e-mail.

2. Available payment methods

The following payment methods may be available on the EduPay platform:

  • Online bank card payment

  • Payment by bank transfer, if enabled for the given service

  • On-site online payment, if available at the given point of sale

The available payment method is always displayed on the page of the given product, service, course, or event.

3. Bank card payment

In the case of online bank card payment, the payment is made in a secure, encrypted payment environment. Bank card details are handled by the payment service provider, not by EduPay.

Accepted card types:
Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, American Express

Payment service provider:
SimplePay

At the end of the payment process, the system informs the user whether the transaction was successful or unsuccessful.

4. Failed payment

In the event of a failed payment, please check the following:

  • whether the bank card details were entered correctly,

  • whether there are sufficient funds on the card,

  • whether online purchases are enabled for the bank card,

  • whether the daily or transaction limit has been exceeded,

  • whether the bank rejected the transaction for security reasons.

In the event of a failed payment, the order or application is not considered finally paid. If you have any questions, please contact customer service.

5. Invoicing

The invoice related to the payment is issued based on the billing details provided. Please carefully check all billing details before finalizing the payment.

The invoice may be:

  • an invoice issued to a private individual,

  • an invoice issued to a company or institution, if the given payment process allows it.

If incorrect billing details are provided, the possibility of correction may be limited. Therefore, please make sure to enter all details accurately before payment.

6. Cancellation and refund

The rules regarding cancellation and refund depend on the terms and conditions of the given product, course, event, or service.

General rules:

  • refunds may only be requested in accordance with the applicable conditions,

  • refund requests must be submitted in writing,

  • in the case of bank card payment, the refund is usually made through the original payment method,

  • in the case of payment by bank transfer, providing bank account details may be required for the refund.

The specific refund conditions may be included in the description of the given service, course, or event.

7. Data processing and security

EduPay processes the data required for payment and invoicing in accordance with the applicable data processing rules. Bank card details are entered on the secure platform of the payment service provider; EduPay does not store full bank card details.
